We are living in a crazy world today. Expect the UNEXPECTED or the EXPECTED!! As a parent myself I don't like to comment about how parents should raise their children but this story definitely caught my attention.
Parents of a baby decide to keep their baby's gender private even from family members such as grandparents. They plan to homeschool the baby and raise him without mentioning his gender.
They say its all in the name of freedom of choice and I'm all for freedom of choice for adults but how can the baby know freedom of choice if babies depend on the parents for survival the first couple of years.
The child's development is critical before the age of 3 yrs. old so whatever you do before that time will either benefit your child or destroy him/her. I could understand if the child has a disability where the gender is unknown or he/she was born with both genders but to impose being labeled as a genderless baby is setting up the baby for confusion and psychological entrapment.

In my opinion it seems as though these parents are using their child as a guinea pig in a psychological scientific experiment. Parents are supposed to be the child's first teachers in life and even though you shouldn't impose certain beliefs on your children you should teach them your values but still accept your children no matter what decisions they make in life as soon as they are old enough to decide for themselves.
Children cannot make decisions for themselves at such a young age when their brain is still under development. If that were the case then why do they need parents.
I know many people don't believe in Freud's theories regarding children development but he makes some good points about the phallic stage in which he clearly points out that if the child is fixated during this time then more than likely the child will have confusion issues regarding repression and identification later on in life but thats a massive controversial
